Q: Why do I need a debt consolidation organization? Can't I just negotiate with my creditors on my own?

A: It's possible to negotiate with creditors on your own to arrange payment or have positive information reported to a credit bureau. However, we have the expertise and the working knowledge of your creditors. To get the benefits of lowered monthly payments, lower interest rates, stopped late charges, and waived over the limit fees, you need professionals who have the experience with these creditors and know how to achieve your goals. Debt Services US can often secure you benefits that are far better than usually made available directly to credit consumers.

Q: I've been making regular payments. Can't I just keep paying my creditors on my own?

A: Are your regular payments actually lowering your balances? If you have high balances and are paying just the minimum payment or slightly more to your creditors each month, but your interest rate is high, chances are that your balance is never lowering, or lowering so slowly that you will spend most of your life trying to pay these debts off. A $10,000 debt usually takes 32 years and $24,500 to pay off, if you are paying the monthly minimum of 2.5% of the balance at an average interest rate of 18.5%. Because we may be able to reduce your interest rates, stop over the limit fees, and so on, it will take a lot less time to pay off your debt through us. You will see your balances drop. On average, Debt Services US clients pay off their debts in an average of 3 to 5 years, depending on individual circumstances.

Q: How will using a debt consolidation program affect my credit rating?

A: You should be aware that your credit report may state that you are working through Debt Services US. We believe that it shows you are trying to get help and repay the debts you owe. If you are having problems with high debt, it is more than likely that your credit report already reflects that you've been carrying balances, possibly made late payments in the past 7 years, or even missed payments. Any addition to that report that shows that your really are trying to get back on track could only place you in favorable light with future creditors. Each creditor is different and uses different guidelines. There are no guarantees that any creditor will extend future credit to anyone, including those with a perfect credit history.

Q: Will the harassing phone calls end if I use a debt consolidation program?

A: Until your creditor's collections departments know that your are working through Debt Services US to pay off your debts, you may still receive some calls. If you get a harassing call, inform the party to call Debt Services US and speak to your account specialist. If you get a harassing call from a collection agency that is not part of your creditor's company, we will provide you with a cease and desist letter. 3rd party collection agents must obey this letter, according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Make sure you tell your account specialist if you receive any such calls from a collection agent.

You can apply today, online, using our easy Application Form for a free no-obligation consultation. It will only take a few minutes and you'll soon be on the road to the debt free living and financial freedom you and your family deserves.
